News: Waggle those angry villagers away with the Wiimote.

IGN has gotten their hands on the most recent issue of Famitsu and the Japanese game magazine giant confirms what we all expected a week ago: Resident Evil 4 is coming to the Wii. The game, known as Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, appeared on GameStop a week ago and this confirmation reveals the game is coming to Japan of May 31.

While the US edition won't be here that soon (an official US announcement has yet to be made), the original GameStop posting listed a June 25 release date.

According to the IGN report, aiming is controlled with the Wiimote and reloading is done by holding down B and shaking the controller.

The game will also include specialized melee attacks as swinging the Wiimote when an enemy approaches will cause Leon to perform a knife attack.

Other features include new difficulty settings ("Easy" and "Amateur"), all of the PS2 bonus content (including Ada's scenario, Separate Ways) and a first look at Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

We'll have more on Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition soon.
