News: There will be no lame attempts at street slang as we give you the first details on Def Jam Vendetta II.



EA has announced that they're returning to the streets with a second installment of their Def Jam Vendetta fighting series. The new game, which sports a working title of Def Jam Vendetta II, is currently scheduled to ship for the GameCube, PS2 and Xbox in the Fall.

This second game boasts more than 70 characters including Busta Rhymes, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Method Man, Redman, Slick Rick, Snoop Dogg and Carmen Electra. It will also feature a completely new fighting engine for these characters to now takes fights out into the streets.

"The Def Jam-EA relationship is once again on the forefront of industry-leading entertainment with Def Jam Vendetta II," said Kevin Liles, President and CEO, Def Jam. "By fusing hip-hop culture with innovative, addictive gameplay, Def Jam Vendetta II is the ultimate interactive hip hop lifestyle product. It redefines the gaming experience."

Def Jam Vendetta is being jointly developed by EA Canada and the Aki Corporation, the team behind the first game. Aside from these scant details we also have the first three screens, which you can grab right here.
