Pac-Man to speak up in Pac-Man World 3 @ Gaming Target

News: I guess "wocka wocka wocka" wasn't cutting it anymore.

After 25 years of speaking only in wockas, Pac-Man will have a real voice in the upcoming Pac-Man World 3. So who's going to supply the voice to the beloved video game icon? That honor belongs to one Martin T. Sherman. I guess Marty Ingels, Pac-Man's voice in the mid-80s cartoon, was unavailable. What with being 69 and all.

Who is Martin T. Sherman? You got me, but the press release states he appeared in Batman Begins, Gangs of New York and Band of Brothers. Appeared may be the key word here as he is not listed with a speaking role in any of those movies at the IMDb. He does, however, have credits on the games TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, Second Sight, Driver 3 and Conflict: Desert Storm II. He's also British.

Pac-Man is British! Will wonders never cease!

Sherman said about all this, "I've been the voice of many different characters but Pac-Man is without doubt the most fun and the most difficult ? I mean, what is a yellow, ghost-eating circle supposed to sound like? Me, apparently! I had a great time recording this voice and can't wait to see how people react to it."

Wocka. Wocka wocka wocka. Wocka wocka.

Translation: In addition to Sherman's voice work the game will include a full script and storyline to use that voice.

Pac-Man World 3 will be released for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC and PSP in November.
