News: At least someone is making a Romero based zombie game...

With all the woe over the publishing fate of Kuju's George Romero's City of the Dead, at least someone is getting a Romero-based zombie game off the ground.

Groove Games has teamed with Brainbox Games to create the First Person Shooter Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green for the Xbox and PC. Based on the Unreal engine, the game is on schedule ship this October.

"George A. Romero's Land of the Dead is a new classic in the zombie film genre and Groove Games is excited to bring games based on the film to the PC and Xbox," said Jon Walsh, CEO of Groove Games. "The game features intense action that horror fans will love, and the ability to play head to head against other players in zombie-infested levels is an absolute blast."

Road to Fiddler's Green will place players in the movie in search of the fortified city, Fiddler's Green. Naturally, an army of zombies stand in your way and the game's wide assortment of weapons (Sniper Rifles, baseball bats, M16s, axes and shovels) will be the only way to make the undead turn into the regular dead.

Online and Xbox Live multiplayer will be included and we'll have more when the zombies give back our brains.
