News: Find out when you can play it inside. Also, a Band Hero demo is now available.
Valve has announced their plans for the demo of Left 4 Dead 2 today and if you plan on pre-ordering the game, you'll get to play it much sooner than you'd think.
Those who pre-order the game via Steam or at participating retailers will receive access to the demo on October 27, less than two weeks from now. Xbox Live Gold members and all PC gamers will get another crack at the infected on November 3 while Xbox Live Silver members will have a chance to download the demo on November 10. Finally, the full game will be available for the PC and Xbox 360 a week later on November 17.
The demo to the first Left 4 Dead
helped convince a skeptical world that the cooperative travails of a group of survivors amounted to a lot more than a hill of beans. The game would go on to become one of 2008's biggest hits and it still has a very active online community today. Valve has plenty of surprises in store for the sequel's demo including a look at the new boss infected:
The Left 4 Dead 2 demo will feature gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter. Playable by 1 to 4 players over local or Internet connections on both the Xbox 360 and PC (with two-player split screen available on the Xbox 360), the demo features all the new boss infected zombies and all the new melee weapons included in the full product.
In other demo news, Microsoft has added a demo of Band Hero
to the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo contains three playable tracks, Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer", Katrina & The Waves' "Walking on Sunshine" and Taylor Swift's "Picture to Burn". demo modes include Party Play and the brand new Sing-Along mode. Band Hero will be released on November 3.
We'll have more soon.
