Thumbs down Is the Wii worth buying???

I know the console is priced a lot lower then the 360 and PS3. From what i've seen, i would never buy a Wii. The only game i see worth buying is Zelda. Every game since launch (except Zelda) has gotten crappy reviews. Why is it still selling so well? the control is fun for about a month and then it's a novalty that wears off, making you wonder where the good games are. My friend has his sitting on the shelf after a few months. He'd rather play his 360.

I dont see a reason to purchase one, anybody out there have one and want to try to change my mind?

Zelda: Twilight Princess
Wii Sports
Excite Truck
Super Paper Mario
Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
VIRTUAL CONSOLE!

I want a Wii a lot and I can't find one anywhere. It's very frustrating.

A novelty? Well, that's arguable. But to be honest the Wii does provide one of the most unique experiences in gaming. Hell, if I could find one in stores I'd probably own one. Regardless, there's no single game coming out that makes me
absolutely have to own one -- like the 360's Halo 3 or Mass Effect, or PS3's Final Fantasy XIII or Metal Gear Solid 4.

Personally, I see it racking in huge sales numbers for a little while longer and then slowing down quite a bit. Only time will tell.

I was into the Wii around the time it came out, tried to get one on the first day but it was sold out, but as time has gone by my interest level has dropped a lot once I thought it out rationally. Hell at Wal-Mart a few months ago they had about 5 Wii systems for sale but I didn't even think about buying it. Well...maybe a little bit, but not enough to get out the Visa.

My problem is a lot of the games that do interest me are either shallow(er) or on another system. I see no reason to play Wii Sports over the sports games I usually play like the 2K/EA stuff regardless of a new control method. Excite Truck is cool from what I played, but I'd rather play something more...hardcore I suppose. Forza, Motorstorm, PGR, Gran Turismo, etc. Zelda I have on Cube, no reason to buy it for Wii. I'd like to try out Super Paper Mario but I'm not gonna spend the money to play a game I may or may not like and then have the thing collect dust. The Virtual Console is cool but man there's been a lot of shit released for it that dilutes the good stuff.

It all comes down to personal taste and so far the Wii isn't offering a whole lot that interests me right now.

That said I will probably get one when Metroid releases on it since I love Metroid more than any other Nintendo franchise.
