News: See the latest Contra adventure, in beautiful 16-bit color, in action.



We don't know when it will be available on the American WiiWare service, but 1UP has obtained a copy of the Japanese release of Contra ReBirth and played this most anticipated of WiiWare releases from top to bottom.

Video footage of all of the game's five levels can be found at 1UP's GameVideos site. But beware, these are complete playthrough videos, so they are filled to the brim with spoilers (which is why I'm not watching them).

But if you don't care about spoilers and just want to soak in the side scrolling goodness, here's a look at the first level in Contra ReBirth:
