News: Adaptation of popular fantasy books coming courtesy of Cyanide.

Cyanide Studio has announced they've reached an agreement with George R.R Martin to create a video game adaptation of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The game, which is currently untitled and has no publisher, will be coming to the PC and unspecified "next generation consoles." No release date was announced.

No other details were revealed, but Cyanide (who is also working on an adaptation of the tabletop RPG Blood Bowl) had this to say:

"We are all huge fans of ?A Song of Ice and Fire', so it is a true honour for our teams to be entrusted with creating the first video games inspired by this masterpiece" stated Patrick Pligersdorffer, Managing Director of Cyanide. "The twists and turns of the plot will allow us to deliver an experience which can be enjoyed by both long-time fans as well as gamers new to the series."

The fifth book in the series, A Dance With Dragons should be released this Fall while a television adaptation, Game of Thrones will air on HBO sometime in the not so near future.

We'll have more soon.
