News: The PSN zombie shooter is coming March 26.

Doublesix Games has announced that Burn Zombie Burn!, an overhead shooter for the PlayStation 3, will be made available to download on the PlayStation Network on March 26.

Burn Zombie Burn! takes the familar two stick, overhead shooter-style found in Smash TV, Geometry Wars and countless other PSN and XBLA titles and adds zombies. And it gives the game's hero, Bruce (who looks very similar to famed zombie hunter Bruce Campbell), a flamethrower to put another zombie on the barbie. The game takes place in six "classic American-horror movie inspired levels" (Suburbia, the Drive-In, a Military Base and a Graveyard have been shown so far) and really encourages the use of fire:

Your hero is Bruce - an average every-day Joe who was looking forward to spending some 'quality time' with his girlfriend Daisy when their Saturday night is interrupted by a zombie invasion. Standing in your way is a never ending horde of undead. To survive you must shoot, burn and explode as many zombies as possible before they overwhelm you. Fire is your most important tool and massive scores can be achieved by burning the zombies en masse and setting up huge chains of explosions that wipe them out in one go.

Doublesix also has a dedicated YouTube channel with five videos showcasing the game's features, levels and gameplay (along with the burning flesh of the undead). They're worth a look.
