Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed during a financial conference call that Assassin's Creed 2 is currently in development. The confirmation came as a response to a question asking whether or not a sequel to one of 2007's biggest hits would be released in 2009. Guillemot wouldn't commit to a release date, but did effectively announce the game:
"We're not answering that question [about a release date]. What we just can say is that we are working hard on [Assassin's Creed 2]"
No other details, or even platform confirmations, were announced. The original Assassin's Creed was released on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with the DS receiving a side story spinoff game.
