News: Take that, retailers.

Echochrome will be coming to U.S. portable in down-only form, according to Newsweek's gaming dedicated blog, Level Up. Likewise, the PS3 edition will be download-only in both the U.S. and Japan. Reasons for the choice are unclear, but considering Echochrome is such a niche title, Sony may not want to risk losing money on the packaging and the pressing of discs.

U.S. gamers still want the packaged product can always import the game since it happens to be very import friendly; almost the entire game is in English. So how about it? Do you care that Sony's choosing to not release a U.S. package?
