News: Microsoft to honor the best downloadable games at GDC in February.



Micorosoft has announced they will be giving out the first annual Xbox Live Arcade Awards this February at the Game Developers Conference.

Awards will be handed out in six different categories: Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game, Best Competitive Multiplayer Game, Best Classic Game, Best Original Game, Best Family Friendly Game and Best Overall Arcade Game.

Microsoft has started things off by choosing six finalists in each category. Each category also includes a write-in slot. XBLA fans can vote for their favorites at Xbox.com.

The finalists are:
