News: Get in line now to get a Wii in January.
GameStop has revealed the full details of their Wii raincheck program and it sounds like a shopping frenzy is in store for those looking to preorder a Wii for January.
According to GameStop, customers who come in on Friday, December 21, 2007 will be able to reserve a Wii (and pay the full retail price of $249.99 plus tax) while supplies last. This offer will only be good on December 21st and according to the company, there are a "limited number of reservations" and only one reservation will be available per household.
Those who reserve will receive a DVD case like the one pictured on the left with the hold slip inside. When the Wii shipments come in next month, those with reserves will receive a phone call from GameStop and will have until January 25, 2008 to pick up their Wii.
Good luck to all who plan to get a Wii this way and I advise everyone else to stay away from GameStop this Friday.
