News: New PS3s available in Japan in November, two colors available.

PlayStation 3 seems to be big in the news of late whether it's for the right or wrong reasons. This time, it's news of Japan getting the 40GB PlayStation 3.

SCEJ has confirmed that the 40GB PS3 will be released in Japan on November 11 with a price tag of 39,980 yen. It is the same as the European and upcoming US version in that it won't have backwards compatibility for PS2 games. However, Sony will be offering the PS3 in two different colors in Japan ? Clear Black and Ceramic White.

Along with the release of two different colored PS3s, the same day will see the release of Dual Shock 3 controllers (in both colors). Those wanting a Dual Shock 3 controller to accompany their console will, in a strange bid by Sony, have to purchase it separately at a price point of 5,500 yen, approximately 500 yen above the Sixaxis controller. The bundles will include a respective colored Sixaxis.
