News: The greatest running back and wide receiver of all-time are joined by a pretty good QB.

2K Games has announced that John Elway, Jerry Rice and Barry Sanders will share the spotlight on the All-Pro Football 2K8 cover this summer.

All-Pro Football 2K8 is Visual Concepts' glorious return to football game making as it brings over 200 "famous football heroes" back to the gridiron. All 200 will be based on their real-life counterparts and they will sport each player's trademark moves.

"To represent All-Pro Football 2K8, we selected three of the greatest football players in history," said Erik Whiteford, Vice President of Marketing for 2K Sports. "John Elway, Barry Sanders, and Jerry Rice are well-recognized for their great competitive spirit, legendary talents, and passion for the game of football - it would be hard to find three better football players to represent our title."

"2K Sports has brought together several of the greats in this game," said John Elway, one the most successful professional quarterbacks ever with 148 career wins and two championship wins. "I'm really excited to be a part of All-Pro Football 2K8 as they bring together the greatest football legends in the history of this game."

"I'm really excited to not only be part of this great football title, but also to represent the greatest football players in one video game," said Jerry Rice, the legendary wide receiver and all-time career leader in pass receptions, yards, and touchdowns. "2K Sports has a proud legacy of making the finest sports games and I'm honored to officially represent All-Pro Football 2K8."

If you'll recall, Barry Sanders was the first NFL player to be featured on the cover of a Madden Football game and his retirement several weeks after the game shipped is considered by some to be the cause of the "Madden Curse." I can't even imagine what an All-Pro Football 2K8 cover curse would do.

All-Pro Football 2K8 will be released this summer for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
