News: Vivendi Universal has announced that a new Crash Bandicoot game is on the way for the Xbox and PS2.
The flood of new platformers coming out this year just keeps on surging as Vivendi Universal announced today that Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity will be coming to the PS2 and Xbox this summer, which will actually make it first out of the gate among new platformer releases this year.
Crash's latest adventure will force him to team up with the evil Dr. Cortex to take on The Evil Twins. The Twins have taken over Crash's island and the only way to take it back is by using all four of the game's playable characters, Crash, Dr. Cotex, Nina Cortex, and Crash and Cortex fused together.
"Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity reinvigorates the 3D action platform genre by combining the well-known humor and wacky situations that Crash is known for with cutting edge, inventive gameplay elements that will make this game the most robust and funniest Crash experience ever," said Christophe Ramboz, President and COO, International for VU Games.
Vivendi is promising a highly reactive new enemy AI and no load times between levels because of the game's streaming worlds. The game's storyline is also being partially scripted by award-winning animation filmmaker Jordan Reichek of Perky Pickle Studios of Ren & Stimpy fame.
We'll have more as it becomes available.
