Back in April Namco announced that they had acquired the Peanuts license and no one really knew what to expect from a Peanuts game. But with the creator of Ace Combat and Star Fox Assault behind it we all should have known.

Snoopy vs the Red Baron is coming to the PS2, Xbox, PSP and PC in Fall 2006. With a little help from Charlie Brown, Woodstock, Lucy, Linus, Marcie, Sally and six others, Snoopy will explore six battlefields in search of the Red Baron's hideout. Over fifty single-player and co-op missions dot these battlefields along with customizable planes and secret weapons like the Woodstock Missile, the Bee Shooter and the Potato Cannon.

"Snoopy's longstanding rivalry with the nefarious Red Baron persona is one of the most acclaimed Peanuts storylines, giving Namco the perfect premise to create a family-friendly video game," said Jeff Lujan, Business Director at Namco Hometek, Inc. "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron introduces an original gameplay experience with high-flying aerial action that is sure to entertain kids of all ages and extend this classic story's legacy."

It seems weird that Namco isn't bring Snoopy to the kid friendly realm of the GameCube, GBA or DS, but what are you going to do? Anyway, Namco has the first screenshots up at Namco's Snoopy vs the Red Baron page. Enjoy.
