News: I can't wait... I can't wait... I can't wait...

Contra: Shattered Soldier was in my mind the best game of 2002 hands down. Sure, other reviewers will tell you about some game called Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, but for me a return to the classic 2D gameplay of Contra was sweet sweet goodness.

And?if we are to believe The Rumor Mill in the February issue of EGM Konami is at it again.?The short, one sentence blurb?says that a source tells them that Konami is working on a "new installment of the classic shoot 'em up series Contra." That's it, nothing else. But if you'll remember I brought up rumblings of a new Contra last year when Konami used Contra screenshots in a job listing on their website looking for programmers (check out the bottom of the page).

I do have to caution that right now this is a RUMOR and might turn out to be false. However we here at Gaming Target will definitely stay on top of this and tell you more as it becomes official.
