Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day with a two makeover that is currently in progress. It is called “Shamrock & Awe” and features some changes and additions to the modes in the game. You will also receive a ‘Precious’ gesture and an animated calling card immediately available to anyone logging on that can be redeemed with Blackjack in the Black Market.
This special event will touch all three game modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In Call of Duty’s battle royale mode Blackout the Shamrock & Awe event changes all smoke to a green color, in addition to the spring colors you will see in the foliage. When you come across a supply box you will also see that it has received a shamrock themed makeover as well. There are also magical bronze pots that are hidden throughout the Blackout map. If you can find these and destroy them you will receive rewards in the form of paint cans. You will also come across Homunculus Leprechauns that are there to grant wishes, dropping a variety of goods if you give them a poke before your enemies do.
The addition to the Zombies mode also features a Homunculus Leprechaun who is now more of a leprechaun with a red beard and a bad attitude. The other addition will involve encountering some zombies that have a different hue around their sunken eyeballs. They will offer a reward as well, however, it is currently a mystery as to what those rewards will be.
Finally, you have the standard multiplayer modes. During this event, the multiplayer mode known as Fracture has returned and is better than ever. It is now known as Stockpile where enemies drop shamrocks (or dog tags once Shamrock & Awe is over) which you will need to gather and place into Pots of Gold (deposit sites). The team over at Treyarch as revealed that this event will continue even once the Saint Patrick’s Day festivities have concluded.
