Activision and Treyarch revealed earlier today that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going to be receiving a free trial for its Blackout Battle Royale mode in case you haven’t picked up the game yet and you want to try it out for yourself. The Blackout Free Trial will feature all the action from the game mode that brings together characters, locations, weapons and gear from across the series with Black Ops signature gameplay fans know and love. The trial will become available on Thursday, January 17, and be available for one week on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
In addition to the news about the free trial, a new update for Black Ops 4 was just released today on consoles, with the PC version receiving the same update later this week. A few of the items this new update covers include:
The debut of Gauntlets and new Elixirs in Zombies on PS4
A new week of Featured Playlists
The addition of Elevation and Madagascar to map rotation for Black Ops Pass owners in multiplayer
A new and improved console looting interface in Blackout
115 Day Celebration Event: Zombies 2XP, Zombies 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Nebulium Plasma until January 18
Reduced Crimson Nosferatu damage and spawn rates in Dead of the Night
