News: A surprise Hitman announcement means you get to play two of the games from the 360/PS3 generation with some updated features.
IO Interactive revealed earlier today that a new Hitman collection is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation, and it arrives next week on January 11. The Hitman: HD Enhanced Collection will feature two titles that were originally released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution.
Hitman: Blood Money was released early on in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation while Hitman: Absolution was released toward the later part, almost exactly a year before the release of Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The premise for Hitman: Blood Money is below:
”Hitman: Blood Money places gamers once again in the role of the world’s greatest assassin, Agent 47. When assassins from Agent 47’s contract killing firm, The ICA, are systematically eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger more powerful agency has entered the fray. Sensing that he may be the next target, Agent 47 travels to America, where he Prepares to Make a Killing.”
The premise for Hitman: Absolution is below:
”Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold-blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he once trusted — and now hunted by the police — he suddenly finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world.”
It would appear that these two games showing up on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 aren’t merely ports. The developers have put some nice work into it and these updated versions will have the following features:
4K
60 FPS
Improved Lighting
Updated Controls
Even though this collection is being released next week there was no indication regarding the price. One can hope it isn’t $59.99. Personally speaking, I think the max should be around $39.99, making each game roughly $20. With that said it would be great if there was an option to buy one of these games separately in case someone loves Absolution but hates Blood Money or vice versa.
Be sure to tell us what you think in the comments section below. Will you be picking up this collection when it arrives on January 11?
