Dotemu have revealed that Windjammers 2 is currently in development and will be arriving on both the Nintendo Switch and PC in early 2019. Windjammers 2 will combine everything fans love about the classic title with entirely hand-drawn 2D animations to create the ultimate windjamming experience. Additionally, the Blitworks-developed Dotemu rendition of the original NEO GEO game will land on the Nintendo Switch on Oct. 23 for $14.99.

Windjammers is now is even better with new stages and players, in addition to having surprising and amazing new power moves. The coming sequel also promises enhanced gameplay mechanics for today’s ultimate disc throwers.

Additionally, Windjammers 2 will bring enhanced online multiplayer gameplay modes, providing rewarding competition for those looking for the ultimate challenge, and robust single-player modes are included for those who like to jam solo or hone their disc-craft offline.

“Growing the Windjammers community over the past two years has been a lot of fun, and with that growth we see a great opportunity to continue to innovate on its timeless and fun gameplay,” said Cyrille Imbert, CEO of Dotemu. “Thanks to that experience, we have a clear idea of how to make Windjammers 2 as fun and entertaining as the original.”

Take a look at the trailer below and tell us what you think. Will you pick up the first Windjammers when it arrives in October? Will you pick up Windjammers 2 in early 2019?
