Spider-Man is less than a month away from arriving on PlayStation 4. I had a chance to spend a few minutes with it at E3 and came away really excited for this game. I didn’t really know what to expect before playing at E3 as I have played recent previous Spider-Man games and while they were ok, they definitely had their share of problems. During my brief E3 time though Insomniac’s version of Spider-Man was wonderful. The game seemed to control really well and I enjoyed how the well the combat flowed. When I wasn’t engaged in combat I enjoyed swinging through the city and trying to build up enough momentum where I could get across town as quickly as possible. As I would swing by though I would come across different events happening throughout the city so, of course, I would take a detour and go see what was going on. I could immediately see that once I have the final retail product of Spider-Man that I am going to be spending a lot of time exploring the city off the beaten path, so to speak.
Earlier today Sony released the gameplay launch trailer for Spider-Man. It gives you a quick glimpse into what you can expect when the game arrives on September 7. In case you haven’t been following the development of Spidey’s newest adventure, the premise is below:

However, balancing his dual life as Spider-Man proves difficult as he struggles with his own personal responsibilities and relationships while knowing that the safety and fate of New York City rests upon his shoulders.
After Spider-Man defeats Wilson Fisk – AKA Kingpin – multiple new threats emerge and Peter must rise up to save the city and his loved ones. The worlds of Peter and Spider-Man collide in this upcoming blockbuster action adventure, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.”
