There is a new event that is kicking off in Call of Duty: WWII title, The Resistance. This new event will run for a little over a month and will feature some new rewards, new weapons, a new mode and more. This will work much like the holiday event that Sledgehammer had during Christmas and will include special supply drops, a new division and double XP playlists.
Once this Resistance event begins tomorrow (January 23) you will have access to the following:
Resistance Themed Supply Drops
Double XP Playlists
New Weapons
New Game Modes
New Resistance Division
The new weapons that will be available during this event include a new rifle, the Volkssturmgewehr. You can also earn a new submachine gun called the Orso. In addition to that there will be a new pistol available and a new melee weapon.
The new mode that they highlighted in the trailer below is the return of Demolition. For those not familiar with this mode, Demolition involves one team trying to destroy bomb sites while the opposition is trying to prevent them from being destroyed. It sound similar to the Search and Destroy mode but there are some differences. The big difference is that in Demolition there are respawns while in Search and Destroy it is one and done.
The new Division being introduced is the Resistance division. Each division has a progression system where you can unlock a new perk as you level up. The different perks that you can unlock as a member of the Resistance division include:
Level 1 - Pistol Tactical Knife
Level 2 - Scramble nearby enemy mini-maps
Level 3 - Additional Pistol Attachment
Level 4 - Mini-map indicator in the direction of close hostiles
