News: You can now see for yourself what the new Ghost Recon title is like a week and a half before the retail release.

The Ghost Recon: Wildlands open beta is now taking place on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Set in a near future Bolivia, the open beta will allow players to fight against the oppressive cartel in the provinces of Itacua and Montuyoc. With the largest map of any Ubisoft action-adventure game, Ghost Recon Wildlands has plenty of activities to take part in. Some of the key features and activities that you can utilize include:

  • Co-op Gameplay: The entirety of Ghost Recon Wildlands can be played from beginning to end with up to three other friends. We encourage you to try playing with friends and co-workers to tactically and efficiently tackle your missions.

  • Engaging Story: The narrative team at Ubisoft Paris collaborated with award-winning writing duo, Don Winslow and Shane Salerno on Ghost Recon Wildlands. While there are plenty of side missions to partake in, Ghost Recon Wildlands’s main story missions see you specifically target key cartel members. Take part in each province’s story missions, eliminate the cartel leader of that province, and get one step closer to stopping the Santa Blanca cartel once and for all.

  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands: War Within the Cartel: Check out the promotional live-action video, War Within the Cartel on Amazon Prime. The action packed story culminates in the events leading up to the beginning of the game as the Ghosts are called in to dismantle the cartel.

  • Change Up Your Style: Try approaching missions in a variety of ways. Keep getting killed when you go in guns blazing? Try taking a more tactical or stealthy approach. Go in at night, use your drone and binoculars to scout targets, and utilize the sync shot to eliminate your enemies without them ever knowing you were there. The same mission approached in different ways can yield vastly different gameplay experiences.

  • Customization: Ghost Recon Wildlands boasts a robust Charactersmith that allows you to customize your Ghost however you like. In addition, Wildlands see the return of the Gunsmith which allows you to customize your weapons to fit your playstyle. The twist? You need to find those weapons and attachments out in the world if you want to use them.

  • Explore the Open Beta: You have incredible freedom within the open beta to do whatever you want across the two provinces and cause some chaos with your three squad mates. Race dirt bikes down a top of a mountain, play a game of parachute chicken but jumping out of a helicopter at the same time, attach C4 to a tractor and drive it into a compound before blowing it up and more.

  • Level Up: Wildlands allows you to level up your Ghost how you see fit. Not all Ghosts are created equal and it is in the progression system that you can sculpt your Ghost to suit your unique playstyle.

  • Do you plan on downloading the open beta this weekend and playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands? Are you picking it up when it releases on March 7? Check out the trailer for the open beta below as well as links to the different platforms and then tell us what you think about Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
