News: Microsoft has a strong showing this year at Gamescom with a big lineup of 2015 titles as well as some 2016 games to look forward to.

Gamescom 2015 is under way and Microsoft started it with a bang with a loaded media briefing showing off some games we are going to get to play this year as well as some of what we can expect in 2016. Some of the highlights for the media briefing includes:

  • Quantum Break now has a release date of April 5, 2016

  • Crackdown 3 will feature 100% destructible environments with a multiplayer beta slated for Summer 2016.

  • Xbox Chat Pad for Xbox One revealed with audio controls and a jack for your headphones. It will be compatible with all controllers and feature two programmable keys as well.

  • All future Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will be backwards compatible on Xbox One

  • Backwards Compatibility will become available to everyone in November

  • The new Windows 10 Xbox One interface will arrive in November

  • Killer Instinct Season 3 will arrive in March 2016 and will feature “Rash” from Battletoads

  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will feature cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs

  • 150 ID@Xbox games coming to Xbox One over the next year with games like Cities Skylines, Train Simulator 2015 and more

  • More games are being added to the Xbox Early Access program. Sheltered should be available later today and Ark Survival Evolved will be added this Winter

  • ”We Happy Few” from Compulsion Games is coming first to Xbox One and Windows 10

  • Cobalt is a new game from Mojang and will be exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10

  • You will get Just Cause 2 for free via backwards compatibility when you buy Just Cause 3 on Xbox One

  • Forza Motorsport 6 will feature 24 player races on dedicated servers and will run at 1080p, 60 fps

  • Homefront Revolution is coming in 2016 with Xbox One gamers getting early access to the multiplayer beta this Winter

  • Halo Wars 2 is coming from Creative Assembly and 343 and will be released Holiday 2016
