News: Microsoft has released two new games to the backwards compatibility list so that preview program members can test them out.
Preview Program members now have a couple of new games added to the backwards compatible list on Xbox One. Earlier today while I was on my Xbox One I noticed that the original Gears of War and Shadow Complex were ready to be downloaded and installed. Games like Gears of War will only show up like this if you own the digital versions obviously and with something like Shadow Complex it only had a digital version on Xbox Live Arcade. As we get closer to the fall season Microsoft will continually add new games to the backwards compatibility list to give Preview Program members time to beta test the game so that, hopefully, everything works great once the feature is released to everyone. If you somehow aren’t familiar with these two games, a brief premise of both is below:
Gears of War
”A Nightmare from Below. A Hero from Within. The planet lies in ruin - cities crumbling, Man’s greatest works fallen. Humanity is cornered, nowhere to run. The Locust Horde has risen, and they won’t stop coming. They won’t stop killing. The Coalition is desperate for soldiers. The sick, the wounded, the imprisoned are all that remain. An inmate named Marcus Fenix, once left to die, is now charged with keeping humanity alive. He can take comfort in but one fact: The human race isn’t extinct. Yet.”
Shadow Complex
”You’ve entered the mysterious world of Shadow Complex. Now you must save Claire and stop the Restoration! Discover game-altering power-ups and weapons, plus more than 100 other items. Use new abilities to infiltrate the secret underground base. Defeat legions of enemies and battle futuristic bosses throughout the huge game world, with hours of intense gameplay unlike anything on Xbox LIVE Arcade!”
