Games With Gold July 2014 Games Revealed by Major Nelson

News: Microsoft has revealed which games Xbox Live Gold members will receive for free throughout the month of July on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Major Nelson has just revealed what games Xbox Live Gold members will be receiving for free for the month of July. Much like Sony does with PS Plus, Microsoft will be rotating out one of the Xbox One games and keeping the other so people still have time to download it. There will also be two free Xbox 360 games to download which means you have three free games for the month of July or possibly four if you are a new member. The Games With Gold titles for the month of July include:

Xbox One

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition - Set in and around a small village in Mexico, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is an action-packed, 2D brawler/platformer that alternates between the worlds of the living and the dead. Inspired by Mexican folklore, players take control of a down-on-his luck wrestler named Juan Aguacate, as he fights through hordes of undead enemies and skeleton henchmen to stop the evil Carlos Calaca from gaining ultimate power by sacrificing the beautiful "El Presidente's Daughter”. New features for the Super Turbo Championship Edition include:

Expanded Story: An expanded version of the game that includes DLC content from the original

New Game Areas: Players will ride boats through the Canal of Flowers to save a besieged fishing town, and avoid lava as they climb through the fieryVolcano

New Boss: Face off against The Trio of Death, a three-headed skeleton that lives in the Volcano, helping the evil Carlos Calaca build his skeleton armies

New Abilities: Maximize destruction with the powerful new INTENSOcombat mode. Plus: Chicken Bombs and Independent Dimension Swapping

New Enemies: Lethal new elite-class enemies that want to chokeslam luchadores to sleep

Support for multiple save slots

Dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood - When Max wishes for his annoying little brother, Felix, to be whisked away by unknown evil forces, he gets more than he bargained for. Armed only with a marker and a hope of undoing what he has just done, he sets out on a perilous journey across deserts, eerie lantern-lit bogs, ancient temples and lush green forests to get his younger sibling back. Along the way Max gains and develops the power to manipulate the environment and overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood mixes traditional Scandinavian storytelling with an inventive and colorful 2.5D platformer, combining classic jump and run gameplay with smart and innovative puzzles. By using the forces of nature, Max can create impressive pillars of earth, powerful streams of water and other elements with his magic marker Max. He must use them to travel through the elaborate cave systems, forests and gloomy castles of Anotherland to save his brother.

**This is the game that was free in June and will remain free in July for Xbox One members that didn’t have a chance to download it.

Xbox 360

Gotham City Imposters - Gotham City Impostors is an original download-only first-person shooter where players battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. Gotham City Impostors is a multiplayer game unlike any other, giving players the opportunity to rebel against conformity as they customise their own characters. Posing as amateur vigilantes or villains, gamers will create their very own Bats and Jokerz characters using unprecedented customisation options including insane costumes, homebrewed gadgets and a wide range of traditional and imagined weapons.

Gotham City Imposters is a free game for two weeks beginning on July 1 and going through July 15.

Battleblock Theater - You and hundreds of your friends have shipwrecked on a mysterious island! Ahead: a dark and probably abandoned place, full of nothing to fear. But wait! Was that kitties?! Run, jump and collect all of the thingies as you perform in hundreds of deadly stage plays! Surrounded by puzzling platforms of every shape and size, can you find a way to save everyone's best friend Hatty Hattington from becoming a jerk forever?

Battleblock Theater is a free game for two weeks beginning on July 16 and going through July 31.
