Amazon puts CoD MW3 on sale for $40

CoD MW3 News: Still haven't bought Call of Duty: MW3? Amazon is currently running a lightning deal for the game at $40.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently up for grabs as a $40 lightning deal on Amazon.com right now, being claimed pretty quickly. So, just in case you weren't one of the 6.5 million people to buy the game within the first 24 hours or part of the millions more who picked it up thereafter, Amazon is the place to get the Xbox 360 version or the PS3 version for $20 off the original price.

CoD MW3 isn't the only video game on sale at Amazon today. The online retailer is selling Dead Island for the Xbox 360 and PS3 for a mere $25 all day long, and there are several other lightning deals for dance, music and family friendly games in the lineup.

With a little over three hours left until the CoD MW3 deal expires and 18% of the allotment claimed, there's a good chance that Call of Duty may be sold out before the counter reaches zero. If that doesn't happen, it may mean that everyone and their younger brother (who shouldn't have access to the game anyway) already has CoD MW3. Whatever you situation is, the timing is right if you ponied up the extra cash for Call of Duty Elite, as the DLC for the first two maps drops today as part of the "content season."
