Star Wars: TOR News: Rakghouls, zombies, call them what you will, Star Wars: TOR will be getting infected with them on January 17, when the MMO gets its first big update.

Rise of the Rakghouls will be the first Flashpoint update to Bioware's Star Wars: The Old Republic. From the look of the creepy trailer, it will add a survival horror feel to MMO's end game. With plenty of players already at Star Wars TOR's level cap, it couldn't come at a better time.

Fans of Bioware's past Star Wars titles will remember the zombie-like Rakghouls from Knights of the Old Republic. That classic Xbox RPG had players questing for a serum to cure the infected populous of Taris, and in true Bioware fashion, asked them to choose between profiting from the serum, and using it to cure the people.

The update has a release date of January 17, which will mark the return of Rakghouls to the Old Republic universe. Max level players will be able to travel to the planet of Kaon and face the plague born menace. There will also be lower level content, Operation: Karagga's Palace, which will have groups of players facing a Hutt-related threat.
