GTA 5 News: You've seen the Grand Theft Auto V video on YouTube, now there's actual news about the GTA V storyline location and multiplayer.
Rockstar Games sent out a news release for Grand Theft Auto V a day after the GTA 5 trailer made its debut on the company's site and YouTube. Now, in addition to the facts we gathered from the minute-and-a-half video, we know that GTA 5 is in Уfull developmentФ by series creator Rockstar North, which is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. There's still no release date, but we're suspecting late 2012, or confirmation of systems, the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and maybe, just maybe the Wii U being the likeliest consoles. Thankfully, we were able to glean some new gameplay and story facts from the news release.
The publisher confirms that the GTA 5 story takes place in Los Santos and the surrounding hills, countryside and beaches. This may mean that you won't be able to explore the borders of San Andreas. At the same time, however, Rockstar Games claims that this is Уthe largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.Ф Could Los Santos be just
that detailed that the one city will be bigger than the state-wide offering of San Andreas in 2004?
УGrand Theft Auto V is another radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe,Ф said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. УWe are incredibly excited to share our new vision with our fans.Ф The company promises that
GTA 5 gameplay will be Уa bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and
online multiplayer.Ф As for the
Grand Theft Auto V story, it'll Уfocus on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California.Ф There's still no word on the protagonist and whether or not the character behind the first trailer's voice over is the almighty dollar-seeking GTA 5 star. Time will tell.
Gaming Target will have more story and gameplay details as they emerge, most likely in the form of trailers. That's the way Rockstar Games likes to do it, so future news about GTA 5 should be no different.
