Warhammer 40k Space Marine News: Ahead of the September 6-bound WH40k: Space Marine's release date, THQ plans to release a demo on Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC.
What chance do you have of being able to play Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine before its September 6 release date? How about 40,000 in 40,000. Pretty good odds, right? THQ will release a public demo of its upcoming space-set FPS next week on Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. Not all three platforms will receive the two-level demo the same day, though. Both the Xbox 360 and PC get the demo on August 23, while the PS3 version lags behind by a day, launching on August 24.
Furthermore, players who pre-ordered Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine through Steam will be getting an exclusive early access period starting today, August 18, through the weekend. Sweetening the deal, THQ set up a special promotion for the entire Warhammer 40,000 series for just $99.99 - that's a total of 23 games when Space Marine alone would cost you $49.99. So, if you're a WH40k fan who can't wait for the game who can't wait for the public demo, then you can pull the trigger now on the early demo and reap the collection's massive rewards.
The first single-player level of the Space Marine demo pits you against an Ork horde outside the gates of a munitions factory, armed with six fantasy-based weapons. Chief among them is an iconic bolter and lethal chainsword - allowing you to test out the melee and ranged combat gameplay. The second area takes advantage of the Jump Pack, where the game's protagonist Captain Titus Уtakes to the skies to rain death from above.Ф
Having experienced the game first hand at two different THQ demo events and E3 2011, we can say that the September 6-bound Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is going to kick off the always-packed fall video game season a couple of weeks before the official equinox.
