E3 2011: News: Team Ninja is unleashing Ryu at E3 2011, but the game isn't due out until 2012 and it'll only be on Xbox 360, as far as we can tell.

As expected, a new Ninja Gaiden 3 trailer came out at E3 2011, but with it was an unexpected surprise: a timetable for the game's release date. According to the hot-off-the-Final-Cut video, Team Ninja's highly acclaimed Ninja Gaiden 2 sequel is gearing up for an early 2012 launch. Surprisingly, the game is so far only confirmed for Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is set in London, after main character of the series, Ryu Hayabusa is summoned by an unknown enemy for a major showdown. The trailer reveals little more than the fact that this game looks set to be bigger in scope than the previous entries in the series.

The gameplay appears to be faithful to what fans have been hoping for with an if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it attitude definitely what we have been waiting for. Challenging and bloody, we'll definitely hit this game up on the E3 2011 showfloor this week. We'll keep you posted on its development. For now, enjoy the latest trailer, embedded below.
