PS Vita News: European copyright office indicates that Sony is calling the NGP or PSP2 PlayStation Vita.

PS Vita name

PS Vita is in, while NGP and PSP 2 is out. That's according to a leaked document from the European copyright and trademark offices. Sony is said to have registered the rumored names PS Vita and PlayStation Vita.

With the Japanese company's E3 2011 press conference only hours away, Sony's powerful handheld console, is now almost guaranteed to be officially revealed as the PlayStation Vita, or PS Vita for short. Sony, of course, is staying mum on the whole naming announcement until later tonight.

While all-but-confirmed name hasn't be officially announced, there have been a number of confirmed titles revealed: Wipeout 2048, Super Stardust Delta and Uncharted: Golden Abyss chief among them. Sony's E3 coverage begins at 5pm PT and Gaming Target will have more news on PS Vita as well as PS3 and PSN titles from the Sony E3 2011 Press Conference in Los Angeles. There's a lot more in store following the Microsoft E3 2011 Press Conference.
