MW3 News for Xbox 360, PS3, PC: The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release date is still rumored to be November 8, and now we know for sure where the first set of levels will take place.

Update: Video: CoD Modern Warfare 3 first gameplay trailer reveals WW3 in NYC, England, France, Germany

From the four Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 teaser trailers released yesterday, we know that this Novemeber-bound game will take place in New York City, Paris, France, London, England and Berlin, Germany. Additional places rumored to be a part of the CoD MW3 single-player campaign mode include Washington, D.C., Dubai, Sierra Leone, Prague, Czech Republic and Moscow. Of course, these additional locations have yet to be confirmed by publisher Activision or series developer Infinity Ward.

What we can tell you is the wealth of information that the teaser trailers have confirmed, despite their lack of gameplay video. For example, we can now say that the Russians from MW2 return as the enemy and the story picks up where that 2008-release title left off. The 35 second trailer makes it very obvious that Manhattan is under siege in this sequel. Likewise, the conclusion video is further backs up our finding, as it ends with a man speaking Russian.

But New York City isn't the only place that terrorists strike in MW3; London, Paris and Berlin are also in their sights. A flyby of the London Eye Ferris Wheel and Big Ben clock tower reveals an explosion at London House of Parliament. Paris experiences the same sort of attack on the Pont de Lena bridge, in between Port de Suffren and Port de La Bourdoannais. The fourth and final trailer is set up like all of the others in that it's a lot more difficult to tell which city it is in the curt 35 seconds.

However, Gaming Target reader Elliott B. tipped us off to the mystery location: Berlin. While the tall building to the left is the first thing to catch your eye when it explodes 18 seconds into the video, you can see the Fernsehturm Berlin, or "television tower," in the distance before the building in the foreground topples over. Our initial uncertainty came from the fact that both Berlin and Hamburg are supposed to be in the final MW3 single-player campaign mode.

Thanks to the purposely-short teaser videos along with the input from Gaming Target commenter Elliott B., we now know the first four countries under attack in CoD MW3 are the United States, England, France and Germany. The specific cities should provide iconic structures in which you'll want to defend your homeland (if you're come one of these places), which is what Homefront wanted to do all along but failed to accomplish until its final level - too little too late. Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments and, like Elliott, we'll spotlight you if you happen to catch something we missed.
