News: The apocalypse is coming in 2012.

Previously announced during the company's Winter financial briefing, THQ used an E3 analyst's meeting to reconfirm that Darksiders 2 is in development.

The first Darksiders was a surprise hit when it was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in January. A month later, THQ revealed that a sequel (and a PC port of the original) was already in the works.

This new announcement offered little new information, but it did pin down the game's 2012 release date.

"Darksiders 2 is coming," Danny Bilson, THQ's VP of Core Games said. "We've green lit that. It's well into production now, it's two years out from now."

Darksiders was developed by Vigil Games, it's likely they're handling the sequel as well.
