LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition

LittleBigPlanet

Written by John Scalzo  on March 23, 2010

News: And it'll support the PlayStation Move.

Folkert Langeveld of Sony Benelux (who looks a whole lot like Zach Braff) recently revealed to Tweakers.net (translated to English by Google Translate) that Media Molecule is hard at work on LittleBigPlanet 2. Langeveld also revealed that the sequel will include PlayStation Move support.

This news shouldn't come as a shock to anyone as Media Molecule and Sony have been dropping LittleBigPlanet 2 hints for years:

  • Media Molecule themselves told the BBC News back in 2008 that work had begun on LittleBigPlanet 2.

  • Sony's acquisition of Media Molecule earlier this month also seemed to hint at a LittleBigPlanet sequel.

  • And the PlayStation Move support was foreshadowed at this year's Game Developers Conference, where Sony showed off a Move-enhanced version of LBP.

SCE America has yet to comment on LittleBigPlanet 2, but this is one of those no brainer announcements, so of course its happening.

    We'll have more soon.
