News: But access to the public beta doesn't begin until January 4.

Because this Thursday is Christmas Eve, Sony has updated the PlayStation Store a few days early with a ton of demos and the public beta for MAG.

MAG (which was previously known as Massive Action Game), a shooter that supports up to 256 players online, was developed by Zipper Interactive, the same team responsible for the SOCOM series. The public beta is available to download now, but access to the beta won't begin until January 4, a few weeks ahead of the game's January 26 release date.

Elsehwere in the update, Sony has added Battle Fantasia and Polar Panic to the PlayStation Network section of the store and Wing Commander IV in the PSone Classics wing.

The company has also added a quartet of downloadable PSP games to the store. They include Savage Moon: The Hera Campaign, Aedis Eclipse, Me & My Katamari and Football Manager Handheld 2010.
