Nintendo has announced that the giant-sized DSi refresh known as the DSi LL in Japan will be making its way to America. Speaking to
Kotaku, a Nintendo representative has confirmed that the handheld will be released in America in early 2010 and will be known as the DSi XL:
"A new iteration of the Nintendo DSiЩsystem will be introduced in Japan on November 21, 2009," according to a statement from Nintendo released to Kotaku. "To be known as Nintendo DSi LL in Japan, and as Nintendo DSi XL in North America and Europe, it will offer a screen 93% larger than the current Nintendo DS Lite with a better view angle, an additional longer touch screen stylus, and preinstalled Nintendo DSiWareЩsoftware. The new version will arrive in North America and Europe in the first quarter of calendar year 2010."
Gamers in Japan won't have to wait quite so long to try it out, the DSi LL will be available in stores in Nintendo's home country on November 21 for a price of е20,000 (about $221). Pricing details for the US release were not revealed.
