Upcoming Game Release List (7/31/09 Update) @ Gaming Target

News: A huge list of what's coming out during the rest of the year.

A wide variety of games have been delayed into 2010 in the last several weeks. Nearly every time, the company involved cites "a crowded Fall schedule" as the reason for the delay. But even though a lot of games have delayed, the Fall release schedule still looks pretty full. So when planning your game budget for the rest of the year, this list of upcoming releases for all of the major platforms is a good way to get a handle on what's coming out soon. It's not a complete list, but I'll keep it updated it as often as I can. More release dates can be found on the New & Future Video Game Releases page at Amazon.

While it's still early yet, this Fall is notable for the number of games that have staked out a spot on the release calendar in September or early October. In years past, many games would shoot for the mid-November just-before-Black Friday spot. But this year, with Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 calling that time period at E3, other company's have decided to ship their big hits earlier in the Fall.
